Let's Talk About Mentoring
As graduate students at IU, you get a lot of emails about resources that are available to help you navigate your experience. You also probably hear a lot (maybe from us) about what to look for in a mentor, how to build a mentoring network, and how to be a good mentee. The problem is that this information is typically provided by well-meaning people who long ago got their graduate degrees and are not currently trying to navigate the robust support system that exists at IU.
In order to address that issue, we host roundtables of current students and recent graduates to provide a different perspective. Let’s Talk about Mentoring roundtables give you a chance to hear from more senior colleagues about the challenges they’ve faced and the techniques they developed for building and maintaining successful mentoring relationships and utilizing the mentoring related resources available at IU.
The next roundtable is scheduled for Friday, November 3rd, 2023 from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm. It will be held at the Bridgwaters Lounge, Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center. The discussion will be followed by the Graduate Diversity Mixer from 2:45 pm - 4:00 pm. Participants can attend one or both events.
